Privacy notice

How we collect, use and look after your personal information when you use the Meet Ada website and bot shop.

Privacy notice

  1. Who we are

Meet Ada is run by Jacqueline Leake and Nina Mistry, who work together as independent sole traders under the Meet Ada name. We decide how the personal information described here is used, so we're responsible for it.

    Contact: hello@meet-ada-ai.co.uk

Postal address: Meet Ada, 41 Station Road, Higham on the Hill, Nuneaton CV13 6AG

  2. What this notice covers

This notice covers our website, signing up for Alex, buying a skill from the bot shop, our emails, and getting in touch with us.

It doesn't cover your conversations with a skill. Skills run in your own AI account (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini), so those conversations are between you and that platform. We never receive or see them. The platform's own privacy terms apply.

  3. What we collect

    • Your name and email address, when you sign up for Alex or buy a skill.
    • Purchase details: what you bought, the price and the date. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
    • Anything you send us: emails, questions and feedback, and the details you give if you book a call with us.
    • Email engagement: our email service tells us whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked, where it records this.
    • Basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our website host and the services below log when you use them.

We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details. Please don't send it to us.

  4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

    • Sending you Alex or the skill you bought, and helping if something doesn't work. Lawful basis: to deliver what you asked for (contract).
    • Emails after you sign up for Alex. You say yes when you sign up. Lawful basis: consent. Unsubscribe any time using the link in every email.
    • A short follow-up email after you buy, with help and news of new skills. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. The law allows this for things similar to what you bought, and you can unsubscribe any time.
    • Replying to you when you get in touch. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
    • Keeping sales records for tax and accounts. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  5. Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the shop. Each one handles your information under its own privacy terms:

    • MailerLite: our email list and emails
    • Stan: the shop checkout and delivery email
    • Stripe: payments
    • Zapier: passes your name and email from Stan to MailerLite after a purchase
    • Cal.com: bookings, when you book a call with us
    • Our website host and email provider
    • Our accountant, for sales records

We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

  6. AI and your information

We're an AI business and we use AI tools in our work. That isn't a reason to put your personal details into them. If we use an AI tool for something that involves your information, such as drafting a reply to your email, we keep the details to the minimum and choose services and settings suited to the task.

We don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

  7. Information stored outside the UK

Some of the services we use are based in, or store information in, the US or the EU. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by a lawful route under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK's approved contract terms.

  8. How long we keep it

    • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep just your email address on a do-not-contact list, so we don't email you again by mistake.
    • Sales records: six years, because the law requires it for tax.
    • Emails and questions: for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than two years after we last hear from you.
  9. Cookies

Our pages don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The install guide remembers which steps you've ticked by saving them on your own device. Nothing is sent to us. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address so it can send the font to your browser.

When you check out, Stan and Stripe use their own cookies, which are needed to take payment safely.

  10. Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it. If we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing it doesn't affect anything we did before.

Email hello@meet-ada-ai.co.uk. We'll reply within one month and may need to confirm who you are first. There's no charge.

  11. If you're unhappy

Tell us at hello@meet-ada-ai.co.uk. You don't need to use legal language. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it properly, and let you know the outcome.

If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

  12. Changes to this notice

We'll update this notice when how we use personal information changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you before it applies.
